Wild Sauna Archipelago

The world's sauna heartland: smoke saunas, avanto ice-hole cycles, island-hopping by boat, and a lakeside crayfish party under the midnight sun.

Beyond the brochure

The real story.

Finland has more saunas than cars, and the smoke sauna — savusauna — is the oldest and the best.

You will heat, and then go through the avanto, the hole in the ice, and then heat again, on islands you reach by boat.

And when the crayfish come, the party does not stop.
